Did you know that Boral actively supports road safety through our partnership with Road Safety Education Australia and community wide efforts to keep people safe on the road?

We are excited to announce the renewal of our longstanding partnership with Road Safety Education Limited (RSE) as part of our commitment to Zero Harm.

Since 2018, we have proudly supported RSE and their RYDA road safety program, which has reached over 735,000 young Australians. This program equips students with the tools, habits, and behaviours needed to stay safe on the roads, both as drivers and passengers. Our involvement includes providing insights into the challenges faced by heavy vehicle drivers and offering real-life experiences with our trucks and drivers.

Participating students get to talk to a Boral driver and sit in the truck’s cabin to learn first-hand about the risk factors such as truck blind spots and stopping distances. There have also been opportunities for heavy vehicles to be present at the workshops to help students understand, with a real-life experience, the risks and considerations when sharing the road with trucks.

RYDA Program Support - we work with Road Safety Education team to deliver the RYDA (Road Youth Development Australia) program, which gives young people the knowledge and skills for safe driving and road etiquette.

Police Award Recognition - we recognise police officers for their exceptional contributions to road safety education and initiatives, highlighting the importance of community partnerships.

National Road Safety Week - we actively participate in National Road Safety Week, which aims to raise awareness about road trauma and promote safer driving practices.

Richard Pearson, Executive General Manager, Asphalt, shared, "We are proud to be a longstanding partner of RSE and the Ryda program. Through the various programs we have helped to deliver, we have seen first-hand the engagement and benefits students have had in talking to Boral drivers and learning about the trucks and heavy vehicles and, more importantly, how they can make safe choices around them."

Terry Briss, Group CEO/Managing Director of Road Safety Education, said, "We are pleased Boral has recommitted to its partnership with RSE and is helping deliver much-needed, potentially life-saving heavy vehicle safety education. We need to do more than just teach a young person the skill of controlling and manoeuvring a vehicle. We must also equip them with the skill of critical thinking and appreciation for safety on shared roads".

Join us in supporting National Road Safety Week from 11-18 May and help us continue to build a safer future for all road users.
