Boral’s diverse landholdings provide a unique opportunity for us to permit production companies to film commercials, reality TV shows and movies on some of our more interesting sites. Some of our sites have already been used for filming including the Sandy Creek Quarry in Victoria, which has been used for various commercials as well as a Netflix series, and Bombo Quarry in NSW which has been used to film a season of SAS Australia. The following films were shot at Sandy Creek, including:
- HBO’s The Pacific, produced by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg
- Ned Kelly, starring Heath Ledger and Orlando Bloom
- The Dressmaker, starring Kate Winslet
- Hit TV show, La Brea
The Property team is currently working with a film scout to prepare a portfolio of our more interesting assets so that we can capitalise on the uniqueness of some of our sites, and allow filming to occur where safe and appropriate.
