Boral returned to Futurebuild 2026 with a standout presence, showcasing its full range of construction materials through an immersive, design-led stand that brought real-world applications to life.

Held at ICC Sydney, the event brought together architects, designers, builders and developers from across Australia. Over three days, the Boral team engaged in hundreds of valuable conversations with customers and prospects, exploring how innovative materials can support both design intent and sustainable outcomes.

A stand designed to inspire

Rather than a traditional product display, the Boral stand was created as a walkable material experience designed and built by Yergan Landscape. Visitors moved through a series of zones showcasing decorative concrete, low carbon solutions, permeable concrete, asphalt and packaged products.

Full-scale samples allowed visitors to see and feel the finishes up close, from exposed aggregate and polished concrete to coloured and burnished surfaces. The integration of planting, seating and built elements demonstrated how these materials perform in real environments, helping designers visualise application in their own projects.

Meaningful conversations on what’s next

A strong focus of the stand was connecting with industry professionals to understand the challenges they are facing today.

Across the event, the Boral team had hundreds of conversations with architects, designers and builders, centred around:

  • low carbon concrete solutions and sustainability targets
  • decorative concrete finishes for residential and commercial projects
  • circular materials and recycled content
  • practical, buildable outcomes across complex projects

These discussions reinforced a growing demand for materials that balance performance, aesthetics and environmental impact.

Hands-on engagement through design

A key feature of the stand was the flat lay station, where visitors could create their own material palettes using decorative concrete samples and Colori® chips.

This interactive element drew strong engagement throughout the event, encouraging visitors to explore combinations of textures and colours and share their designs. It also created a natural entry point for deeper conversations with the team.

Sharing insights on stage

Boral’s presence extended beyond the stand, with Ali Nezhad and Sam Coulter presenting on stage as part of the Futurebuild speaker program.

Their session explored emerging trends in sustainable construction materials, including low carbon concrete, supplementary cementitious materials and circular solutions. The presentation generated strong interest, reflecting the industry’s focus on reducing embodied carbon while maintaining performance and durability.
