For many years now, Boral Concrete has been supplying our tier-one construction customers with lower-carbon concrete that enables these customers to gain Green Star points through the Green Building Council of Australia by reducing the carbon footprint of the buildings they construct.
Green Star-certified buildings are not only better for the environment, but our customers and their clients also enjoy many attractive financial and investment benefits and ultimately higher asset values.
To obtain a Green Star rating, the builders earn points by using responsibly manufactured products and other activities. These points can then be used towards decreasing the embodied carbon of the building.
Recently Boral gained GreenTag Health Rate certification which enables our clients to gain additional points towards their Green Star rating.
We achieved a platinum-level GreenTag Product Health Declaration which is the highest level available. The combination of our existing Environmental Product Declarations and the new GreenTag certification means that our concrete is officially classified by the Green Building Council of Australia as ‘Responsibly Manufactured’.
This is another important step in our efforts to achieve our environmental and sustainability goals.
