Liam Riordan with Vik Bansal

Liam joined Boral as a full-time employee two years ago, following a secondment from a consultancy, where he specialised as a town planner working on high rise development.

Liam now works as a Planning and Development Manager across all the quarry, concrete, asphalt and recycling sites in the Southern region, assisting the businesses to obtain consents to maximise their operational potential.  He recently won a Boral STAAR award, presented to him by CEO Vik Bansal at a team event.

What is your impression of working at Boral?

Boral has so many talented individuals who have a wealth of experience and, by taking the time to listen to everyone I learn something new every day. I also love that the work at Boral is so varied which means that there is always a fresh challenge.

What is your most memorable moment so far?

My career highlight at Boral is securing consent from Bunurong (who are the Aboriginal Traditional owners for Deer Park Quarry) for our cultural heritage permissions for the operation of the quarry. This was a project that spanned two years, and I am very proud of how the Boral team pulled together to work through all the challenges from start to finish. This was a significant achievement for the business.

In his down time, you will find Liam practicing his Spanish or hitting the trails trying to climb something new.
