Over the last 12 months, Boral Recycling has been rolling out our Circular Materials Solution across various projects throughout the country.
It allows our customers to benefit from an end-to-end solution including the collection of waste materials from their sites, that are then supplied back to them as back high-quality, construction materials.
One of our recent successes has been our partnership with Laing O’Rourke/ Transport for Tomorrow (T4T) on the ‘MTMS Stage 2 South Works’ package.
Boral and T4T have been working closely to implement the project which to date has involved the management of over 8,000 tons of material removed from across eight customer sites along the south coast train line.
Boral Recycling has been able to recover over 99 per cent of suitable material from the project to recycle back into over 4,000 tons of high-grade construction materials; with the remaining materials being suitably processed through Boral partners.
T4T and Boral are now using the pilot program to apply for an innovation credit through the Infrastructure Sustainability Council (ISC) which highlights Boral’s Circular Material Solution as a market transformative and national ‘first’ process for materials management.
Other recent successes with the solution have been driven by close teamwork between Boral Recycling and DMG, with customer/project wins including Mirvac, Built. and Multiplex; altogether adding over 100,000 cubic meters of concrete supply pump and place to our customers.
Kudos to Sam Coulter from Recycling and Graziano Barbaro from DMG amongst many others within our Recycling and DMG teams driving these successes.
