The University of Tasmania has invested $304 million in transforming and developing its Launceston campus.

Boral began supplying concrete to principal builder, Fairbrother, in May 2021 for the first building of the project, the $45.5 million River’s Edge, designed by John Wardle Architects.

The landscaping and off form package, including roadways and paths, was completed by Scapefrom, with Boral delivering the team the last load of concrete on 30 August 2023. Over the two years of construction, Boral has supplied in excess of 2000m3 of Envisia Concrete which was used in every aspect of the main structure, contributing to the building being constructed with 32.5 per cent less embodied carbon than similar projects.

River’s Edge has been built within a post-industrial site and the design is reflective of this influence. External works consist of Envisia and Decorative exposed (300m3) supplied as standard with the decorative exposed concrete also 100 per cent round river gravel mix.
