A growing business leads to opportunities for our people
Whether it’s through more training and professional development or new career opportunities, success and growth across our business leads to new opportunities for our people.
We spoke with April Mann from the Queensland Customer Experience team about her next career move.
Can you tell us how long you’ve been at Boral and what brought you here?
I started in the Contact Centre in November last year. As to what brought me to Boral – well that’s a funny story.
Both my parents work here, my dad works as a Quarry Allocator and my mum as the Team Leader of the Concrete Allocations team. I’ve been listening along to their Boral stories for years and decided it was a place I’d like to build my career.
What have you enjoyed the most so far?
Definitely the team. I have met and learnt from some amazing people in the last year.
What are you looking forward to most in your new role?
I am really excited to get into the operations side of Boral and I feel like it will suit me well as I am more of a hands-on person. I am excited to see the mechanics of our batching plants, and work as part of the team.
What's your advice for anyone who might be thinking of applying for a new role in Boral?
Even though it’s nerve-racking jumping into something new, my advice is that you need to take chances if you want your career to grow.
Follow the path that you feel builds on your existing skills and knowledge to progress to a point where you’ll see yourself thriving.
