Instructions for use

Before applying Surface Coat

  • Allow new asphalt surfaces to cure for a minimum of 30 days prior to applying Surface Coat. New concrete surfaces must cure for a minimum of 14 days.
  • Repair any surface cracks with a suitable crack sealant preferably 30 days before applying Surface Coat.
  • Apply Surface Coat when the temperature is between 10ºC and 30ºC.
  • Make sure there is no rain forecast for at least six hours.

 

To apply Surface Coat

1. Surface Coat Prep - clean area

For optimum results wash the area and ensure the surface is dry and clear of loose stones and debris.

Mask the edges of the area being coated with suitable tape to leave a neat edge.

Mix the Surface Coat well, ideally with a large paint paddle or drill mounted paint mixer.

4. Surface Coat Prep - Apply

Apply Surface Coat using a tray and 200mm+ roller. Apply in approx 1m2 areas, first in one direction and then rolling back at 90 degrees to ensure complete coverage.

5. Surface Coat Prep - Leave to dry

Leave Surface Coat to dry for a minimum of four hours before applying a second coat, removing the edging tape or allowing pedestrian use. It is recommended to leave Surface Coat for 24 hours before opening to vehicle use.

Quick tips

  • Consider the environment when applying Surface Coat and apply sparingly to prevent runoff from contaminating drains and waterways.
  • Multiple coats will enhance the overall finish.
