We began 2024 by delivering the first of many of our Boral Recycling Skip-bins to our Sydney Concrete plant network.

These bins are custom-designed to capture wet concrete returns from our Concrete plants and allow them to be transported to our Recycling sites. Once there, the material is recycled back into various road bases and aggregates for supply back into the market.

The bins increase our Concrete Agi-trucks utilisation and allow greater capture of our returned and waste concrete to take into our Recycling sites. They also increase value to our customers by ensuring all waste is diverted from landfill and back into valuable construction materials.

The initiative has been led by Sam Coulter in Recycling with special kudos to the Operations and Production managers from the Sydney Metro Concrete, Procurement and Marketing teams who were all key in making this happen.

It’s exciting when I imagine a day when every concrete site has one of these skips, giving us a complete national recycling footprint and circular solution. It is highly likely that this will not be far away.
