Big rocks for little ones

Whether it’s a billion-dollar infrastructure investment or lending a helping hand to a local partner – we all get out of bed each day with the goal of Building Something Great.

And so it was that Lauren Trewin, Montrose and Coldstream Quarry Manager, and her team in Victoria supported Gladesville Primary School with an important project on site.

“The school came to us with a dream of building a Yarning Circle for the children, and after some careful planning it was great to be able to help them bring this project to life for this small school community,” Lauren said.

Our Montrose and Coldstream teams provided a crusher mantle, crushed rock for the base, crushed rock for the top layer and large rocks for the children to sit on.

This space will be used by the children to sit and work collaboratively during outdoor class time.

Lauren said, “The children and educators are all thrilled with their new safe space, and the team are really pleased we could help them build it”.’

Thank you to Driver Ross Sargeant, Quarry Manager Montrose and Coldstream Lauren Trewin, Operations Manager East/North John Matthew for helping Gladesville Primary School make this great project possible.

Where decisions are made together

A yarning circle is a key element of Indigenous culture, where decisions are made collaboratively and through inclusive dialogue, rather than having one person in a position of power who makes autonomous decisions.
