When did you start with Boral and what attracted you to join us?

I started working in Boral as a Customer Solutions Agent in August of 2022 and at the time was focused on obtaining a permanent full-time role. When I was looking for a job, Boral was amongst a few other companies I was interested in working at. When I spoke to my aunt, she mentioned Boral stood out due to their company values and she was familiar with Boral with her experience in a similar industry.

What are your qualifications

I have a Cert III in Process Plant Operations.

What does a typical day look like?

I log on to all the systems, check emails, check in with allocations on outstanding tasks, take inbound phone calls, follow ups, confirming orders, stock ordering, liaise with allocations and testing labs, advise and work with our sales team.

What is your favourite part of the job?

I love all aspects my job, but my team is especially great. We work together, communicate and nothing is too hard for us. We have a common goal and work towards this. I also speak to so many different customers and people with different personalities. I also like that I am part of the growth of our community.

What do you like the most about working at Boral?

We are all striving to work towards Boral “building something great” and to be the best at Boral and in the industry. I found this in my own team but also allocations, sales and many more teams.

Do you have any advice for people wanting to work in your profession?

I have been working in customer service since I was 14. It is important to be okay to talk to anyone and have conversations. There is so much more to concrete than just a driveway. There is always something to learn with concrete and opportunities with career growth at Boral. There is always going to be support when required.

Who is your female role model?

This would be my aunt. She had an amazing career for 30 years in the mining industry. She worked her way up into a management role and has made her name for herself.

She worked really hard, held her company values with high regard. She was solutions driven, firm and fair and was a great communicator.

I would like to do the same as my aunt and grow with a company. She will always be there for me and give me advice to help guide me with my career choices.

What one piece of advice would you give your 16 year old self?

I would tell my 16 year old self to go for it. You miss out on 100% of opportunities that you don’t take. The worst that can happen is that they say no. Stay persistent and the right opportunity will happen.
