Fly Ash is a by product of power generation that not only offers environmental benefit through the reuse of waste materials, but also provides enhanced benefits when added to concrete.

Fly Ash can be combined with other materials to produce high quality and economical results in concrete such as pre-mix, pavements, sub-bases and dams. It has also been used in stabilised road bases and asphalt.

The added benefits of fly ash include improved workability, pumpability and resistance to alkali-aggregate reaction and a reduction in heat of hydration, permeability, drying shrinkage and creep. Fly Ash also provides resistance to sulphate attack and offers good carbonation and corrosion protection with appropriate curing.

Fine Grade Fly Ash

Fly ash is a pozzolan; a fine grey powder resembling cement, which is low in lime content, and possesses in itself little or no cementitious properties however, will, in it’s finely divided form in the presence of moisture, react chemically with calcium hydroxide (e.g. from lime or cement) at ordinary temperatures to form insoluble compounds possessing cementitious properties.

Features, Benefits & Range

  • A fine grey powder which is low in lime content and possesses in itself little or no cementitious properties
  • Use as a filler to add workability to concrete and mortar mixes
  • Can be combined with other materials

Range is bulk cement.

Application / Use

Fly ash can be combined with other materials to produce high quality and economical results for:

  • Pre-mixed concrete
  • Stabilised road base
  • Roller compacted concrete pavements
  • Concrete sub-base
  • Conventional concrete pavements
  • Roller constructed concrete dams
  • Concrete products

Fly ash can also be used as a filler in the manufacturing of many products. It has been successfully used in asphalt, rubber and other manufactured products.

Medium Grade Fly Ash

Combine with other materials to produce:

  • Pre-mixed concrete
  • Stabilised road bases
  • Roller compacted concrete pavements
  • Concrete sub-bases
  • Concrete pavements
  • Roller constructed concrete dams
  • Concrete products

Enviroment®

Enviroment® is a Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag which complies with AS3582.2 as supplementary cementitious material. It can be used as a partial Portland cement replacement to enhance the durability characteristics of concrete.

The inclusion of Enviroment®  in blended cements for stabilisation is common practice as the material sets slowly allowing contractors with additional time to place and compact materials. After compaction the cement blend will gain strength slowly but ultimately it may achieve strengths exceeding General Purpose Cement.

Features & Benefits

  • Higher later age strengths
  • Lower heat of hydration making it ideal for mass concrete pours
  • Improved resistance to chloride penetration which decreases the potential for reinforcement corrosion
  • Improved resistance to sulphate attack

Range:

  • Bulk
  • Bulk bags

Application / Use & Range

  • Enviroment is used extensively in the premixed concrete market where it is used as a replacement for General Purpose Cement
  • Enviroment is also widely used in the stabilisation of soils for both in-situ road stabilisation and off site stabilisation of quarry materials
